My Life Plan

My Life Plan is a post-secondary planning graduation requirement for the class of 2010 and beyond.  In middle school, students will learn how to make successful transitions, explore careers, and make academic plans based on possible career paths. As 9^th and 10^th graders, students take inventories and surveys related to self-exploration, encouraging them to think about their interests,  personality, and how these aspects all relate to the world of work.  As 11^th and 12^th graders, students transition to actually forming and executing a plan, ranging from career and college searches to college and job applications. 

My Life Plan asks the following questions:

  • Personal and professional application of skills
    •  Interpersonal skills
    •  Problem solving skills
    •  Self management skills
    •  Ability to learn throughout life
